Blogging is such an important step for content development. Honestly utilizing any of the three long-form content platforms discussed in previous posts is great for building out and developing both short-form and longer-form content. Those 3 platforms again are blogging, video, and podcasts. If you are not doing one or two of these already as apart of your content creation process you should be.

Blog posts are great sources for developing opt-ins and ebooks. In addition, they are amazingly useful when it comes to repurposing into social media content for your pages. At this point, if you have been reading my other posts and following my page, you already know the importance of creating long-form content to build traffic to your website. However, what about using that content to build brand awareness and build your social media following.

Where should you be sharing your content?

The short answer is everywhere. However, it doesn’t do much good to just randomly slap up a post or image on your page and call it a day. There is much more that needs to be considered and plans that need to be developed in order to ensure consistency and clarity of your message. Otherwise, your posts will not get you anywhere and will not turn into anything more than maybe a few likes here or there, with no real return on investment.

How to create your content?

When using your blog posts to build your social media calendar read through each post and pull out anywhere from 5 to 10 quotes, you can use on your social media pages.

Pop these into branded graphics or post in conjunction with a well-branded graphic.

Where to share your content?

  • Social media pages
  • Facebook groups
  • Pinterest
  • send to your email list
  • List builder/ opt-in
  • Backlink to previous posts you have written.
  • Use posts to answer questions from current or potential clients/customers.
Social Media Pages

Content should be shared on any business page you have including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, etc.

Facebook Groups

There are millions of Facebook groups aimed specifically at sharing blog posts and social media posts. I highly recommend joining at least one or two. I am currently working on a list of the groups I am apart of and highly recommend.

When you join a group, be sure to get to know the other members a bit. Like and share their posts on your own page. Find two to five individuals who you click with and partner with them to help build engagement on your posts and blogs. Share each others’ work.

Pinterest

Create pins for your posts and share them with Pinterest. Pinterest is not just for cute crafts or how to save money tips. The topics available are continuously evolving. Personally, I enjoy utilizing Pinterest as a search engine when I am looking to see what others in my clients’ industries are writing and posting about.

Pinterest has been known to increase traffic anywhere from 10 to 100,000% when utilized properly. Posts should be shared daily to Pinterest, and posted across multiple relevant boards. In addition, make sure you are sharing and pinning others’ content that is relevant to your industry and subject.

Your email list

Do not forget to share your latest blog posts when emailing your list. Give your list a sneak peek introduction to the post and require them to go to your website to read the remainder of the post.

List Builder

If you have a super value-packed post you have written do not be afraid to use the post as an opt-in to get people to join your email list. Introduce the topic and the post and ask them to sign up to join your list in order to finish reading the post. Not a fan of cliff hangers? Develop a landing page building interest in the subject matter of your post and request people join your list to read it.

Backlink

Don’t forget to link back to previous relevant posts within your new posts. This is a great way to get readers to explore your website further and remain on your webpage longer.

Answer Questions

If a potential or current client/customer asks you a question you have answered in one of your blog posts do not be afraid to send them the post as an answer to their question. Add the link to your frequently asked questions page.
